Tomorrow is the last day I'll be working at the headquarters in Highland. We have to have our office and desk area all packed up by the end of the day. The computers will be shut down at 3:00
Monday will be a new start at the new headquarters in Novi and I'm excited. I'm not too excited about the drive but I'm happy to have a job and nice place to go to work.

Christmas Cards

The creative bug has finally come back! I've been making Christmas cards like crazy since Sunday. I organized a Christmas Card exchange with group of friends from work. Leslie was kind enough to host it at her beautiful home! Linda and I made our cards up in advance so we could help the others come up with ideas and create their cards. We got to show them how to emboss, cut and score, distress and lots of other techniques. It was a great time with great friends.

Mueller's Apple Orchard Craft & Car show
Oh what a beautiful day it was to spend outside! It had to have gotten up to at least 80 today! Linda and Rick had the tent all set up by the time I got there, a little after 9:00. This being our first event to go to as a vendor we sure did get some good ideas on setting up and stuff. If I end up going to more shows, I'm going to invest in some display racks so people can see the cards better. There were quite a few people there today but not very many buying. The coasters we made seemed to be the best selling item for sure. I sold a few cards and Linda sold a couple of pillows, pillow cases and a scarf.
I did have a few people take my business card so hopefully I receive so new contacts for the Stampin! Up products too!
I had a great time with Linda and am so thankful for all her efforts in making this a success! Hugs & thanks my friend! I love my new sweatshirt too :).

Goodbye
Another weekend comes to a close, and oh how fast they seem to go! Life just goes by way to fast so you might as well have some fun along the way! Friday night was another fun dancing night at Boogie Fever with good friends from work. David actually went as well but little did he know what he was getting himself into (he doesn't like to dance). I guess next time he'll ask more questions on where we are going .
Saturday night was the retirement party for John Welker, former president of Numatics. He's a man that will probably never retire but it was sad to see another era of Numatics come to an end. I have high hopes of good things to come with the new building and new era. The party was a great time, getting to see those you normally only talk to on the phone and those you haven't seen in a while. We wound up continuing the party at the bar in the same building and dancing till 1:30 or so. I had such a great time with Jeff, MK, Rachel and Erica. I wish Kim could have been there but she was on vacation.
So, we're on to another week and life goes on as usual.

New Building
The accounting group at Numatics got to go on a "field trip" to go see our new building. It really energized us to see the beautiful setting both inside & outside the building. There is a nature preserve behind the building that offers such a gorgeous view. I'm actually looking forward to our move late Oct. now!

Summer is coming to an end
For most people it would be such a sad time to see summer coming to an end but I can't help but welcome the Fall season with open arms. Fall is my favorite time of year and I love to bring it in with what has become our Annual Barn party in October. I just love the scent of fall, the changing leaves, apple orchards with their cider & donuts, the crisp air, harvest moons, pumpkin pie, and the ghost & goblins of Halloween.
With all that said, I spent Saturday at one of my friend's house for our last summer party at her lake house. It was such a perfect day with the sun shining and the temp at around 76. We drank, ate, swam and had a fabulous boat tour around the lake. I had such a wonderful time! While I'm sure it's not our last nice weekend day, if it were, it was the perfect ending to my summer.
Now it's time to get down to business with crafting! Linda and I are having a booth at Mueller's Apple Orchard on September 20th. I have lots of cards to make to sell and plan on demoing some card making techniques in hopes to gain some new customers and expand my business. I hope it's a success for both Linda and I, so cross your fingers! I'll make sure I post on how it went.

Blue Nile & Boogie Fever
Seeing that summer is just slipping away and feeling a little bit of cabin fever, me and a couple of my friends went out for a night of dancing. We at dinner the Blue Nile (Ethopian Restaurant) and dance the night away at Boogie Fever in Ferndale.
I have to tell you that I was a bit reserved about trying the Blue Nile but was excited to try a new cuisine. It was absolutely fabulous! We all sat around a little round table and then the food is brought out on a round deep platter and you use an Ethiopian bread called Injera to scoop up the food and eat. There are no plates and no utensils so you can't be shy!
"It is said that people who eat from the same plate and break bread together will create a bond of friendship and personal loyalty between the diners that will last a lifetime." As quoted from their website Blue Nile. We drank an Ethiopian Honey wine that was just fabulous and there was plenty of fun and light hearted conversation going around. Oh how it felt so good to laugh so much.
Then we raced over to Boogie Fever so we could get in before 9:00 and not have to pay the cover fee :). It took a while for the place to get hopping but once it did we had a blast dancing to Michael Jackson, Bee Gee's, Saturday Night Live music and many others. I'm sure I looked like an idiot out there but I didn't care, it felt so good to dance the night away.
