Giving Life to an Old Blog

Wow, I just happened to click on my profile for the Blogger site and noticed my last post on this site was 2008!  A lot has changed in my life since then.  I was a Stampin Up! demo for a brief time in Michigan - I had joined just for the discount. Well several years later, I am since remarried to my wonderful husband Lou and have also rejoined Stampin' Up! and am much more active and trying to build my hobby business! So much to say but not much time right now.

Office Move

Tomorrow is the last day I'll be working at the headquarters in Highland. We have to have our office and desk area all packed up by the end of the day. The computers will be shut down at 3:00
Monday will be a new start at the new headquarters in Novi and I'm excited. I'm not too excited about the drive but I'm happy to have a job and nice place to go to work.

Christmas Cards

The creative bug has finally come back! I've been making Christmas cards like crazy since Sunday. I organized a Christmas Card exchange with group of friends from work. Leslie was kind enough to host it at her beautiful home! Linda and I made our cards up in advance so we could help the others come up with ideas and create their cards. We got to show them how to emboss, cut and score, distress and lots of other techniques. It was a great time with great friends.

Here are some pictures...

Anderson's 3rd Annual Barn Party

The weather was absolutely gorgeous for our 3rd Barn Party - 80 degrees, sunny with a decent breeze. I took Friday off to clean and decorate the barn up with the help of my dear friend Linda. We accomplished a ton and all I had to do was wait for the round table to be delivered and decorate the tables. We wound up with 55 friends and family coming up to enjoy my chili, DJ's pulled pork & BBQ chicken, and tons of wonderful dishes & desserts that everyone brought out. I attempted to host the sack races but without John there to get the kids pumped up, it just wasn't the same! The bon fire was nice at toasty when the cooler evening air settled in (thanks Ed for manning the fire!). Everyone loved David's MP3 music selection and we even got in some dancing (after several shots of Yager & Patron). I just love having everyone come out to relax and enjoy eachother's company. My mom says I'm becoming more and more like her (and that's a great thing!) in loving to entertain and host parties.
So with another annual party under my belt, I'll be thinking and planning for next year!

Mueller's Apple Orchard Craft & Car show

Oh what a beautiful day it was to spend outside! It had to have gotten up to at least 80 today! Linda and Rick had the tent all set up by the time I got there, a little after 9:00. This being our first event to go to as a vendor we sure did get some good ideas on setting up and stuff. If I end up going to more shows, I'm going to invest in some display racks so people can see the cards better. There were quite a few people there today but not very many buying. The coasters we made seemed to be the best selling item for sure. I sold a few cards and Linda sold a couple of pillows, pillow cases and a scarf.
I did have a few people take my business card so hopefully I receive so new contacts for the Stampin! Up products too!
I had a great time with Linda and am so thankful for all her efforts in making this a success! Hugs & thanks my friend! I love my new sweatshirt too :).
